Marine Technology Training Program
Marine technicians today need to know about the complex systems of not just one, but several different engines. One day you’re working on a Honda outboard. The day after that you’re working on a Yamaha four-stroke. A week later you’re dealing with a Cummins MerCruiser diesel. It’s challenging but it’s also exciting, rewarding, and a whole lot of fun.
Our Marine Technology program provides the knowledge and skills you need to become a successful entry-level marine technician.
Our 60-week program starts with the basics:
Outboard engines, stern drive engines, two- and four-stroke engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, hull design, trim and tilt. You’ll learn how to use specialized diagnostic, repair, and maintenance equipment. You’ll work on lots of different engines. You’ll see how marine dealerships work. And you’ll learn the business skills you need to make your career a long and successful one.
Once you complete the basic theory and technology section of the program, you take manufacturer-sponsored courses, including Marine Honda, Mercury MercTech, Marine Suzuki, Marine Volvo Penta, and Marine Yamaha to broaden your knowledge and get the skills and experience you need to get a great job as an entry-level technician.
